This article is based on the online course, English Grammar and Writing, pubulished by Jinan University. And English Grammar in use by Raymond Murphy is the reference book.I wrote this article to document my learning process and share my practical experiences.

First, what is subject （主语）？
As you can see, a sentence is a group of words，and every sentence has two basic parts: a subject and a predicate. like this:She is reading the book.The red part is the subject, and the blue part is the predicate.
A subject is the topic about which the speaker or writer is speaking or writing.
The subject is the naming part of the sentence, representing the person, place, or thing, that performs the action of the verb or expressing its condition/state.like: Tom eats. The subject "Tom" does the action of "eats".
Subjects are nouns and other forms that can funtion as nouns.Such as pronouns, clauses，infinitives and gerunds.A subject unuslly comes first in a sentence.
